When You Control the Process the Result is Perfect Beer

Making homemade beer using your Beer Machine is easy and really pretty stupid-proof. But that doesn’t mean don’t have important input before, during and after brewing.

You can tailor your homebrew to your own standards and taste.  You are the captain, cap’n.

Start with getting your own Beer Machine.

Phase One - Fermentation

Essentially, there are two phases of the brewing process.  The first is called the fermentation period, and starts as soon as you add the brewer's yeast and seal up your Beer Machine.  For three to five days, it’s best to leave your beer machine at about room temperature.  While the mix is in there working its magic and fermenting, you should avoid adding any carbonation using the CO2 unit.  That could slow things up.

Tip:  fermentation happens happiest when your Beer Machine is kept between 65 and 72 degrees F.

Phase Two - Clarification and Conditioning

The second phase is the clarification and conditioning period that begins between days three and five.  At this point it’s recommended that you move your Beer Machine into the fridge, as clarification happens more quickly there.  This phase takes 4 to 5 days as the natural carbonation produced during fermentation is absorbed into the beer and clarification takes place.

Tip:  beer clarifies more rapidly and absorbs CO2 more efficiently at cooler temps. From 36 to 38 degrees F.

You can affect the beer during the clarification process by adding CO2 to increase carbonation as the beer and your taste dictates.  You can also add carbonation after the brewing process to increase or maintain effervescence.

Tip: the red zone, indicating PSI’s of more than 15 should be avoided.

The Beer Machine is a Controlled Environment

So you see there is some leeway when it comes to finishing your brew.  As you gain experience brewing a wide range of tasty brews, you’ll alter your strategies to truly make your beer your own

The Beer Machine process can be as simple, or as creative as you would like it to be. But having complete godlike control over your beer is just one of many advantages you enjoy as owner of a Beer Machine.
